Tax Alert: MoF notification #440/S1 dated 25th February 2020 on the fixed stamp duty of LBP 250

Dear All,

Considering the current shortage of fiscal stamps in the Lebanese market, especially the 250 LBP stamp that the taxpayers have the obligation to affix on their invoices and receipts, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has issued a notification #440/S1 on 25th February 2020 (attached a scanned copy) reminding the taxpayers that according to the section 6 of the article 43 of the Fiscal Stamp Law they can pay the equivalent of the fiscal stamp duty directly to the MoF on the pre-numbered invoices and receipts before issuing them.

The procedure for the pre-payment of the fiscal stamp duty on the invoices and receipt is detailed in the attached MoF notification.
