Tax Alert: MoF decisions #165/1 dated 15 May 2020 further extension of Q1 VAT & Tax on salaries declaration & payment till 20 May 2020 & Law #160

Dear All,

 

Please be informed that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) decision #165/1 dated 15th May 2020 (attached a scanned copy) has further extended the deadlines (already extended by the MoF decisions  #146/1 and 147/1 dated 15/4/2020 till the 15/5/2020) for the filling of the Value Added Tax (VAT) and the Tax on salaries (Chapter 2) declarations of the 1st quarter of the year 2020 and the payment of the related taxes until the 20th May 2020 inclusive.

 

It is worth noting that the Law #160 dated 8 May 2020 (attached a soft copy) published yesterday in the Official Gazette has suspended all the deadlines (including those related to taxes) till the 30th July 2020. A decision from the MoF should be issued early next week to clarify all the tax obligations that will be suspended till the 30 July 2020 based on this Law #160 and the new tax deadline thereof.
